The Meteorological Office at the new Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang started its official operation on 1 July 1998. It provides a comprehensive range of aeronautical and other meteorological services in accordance with the provision of Annex 3 to the Convention of International Meteorological Practices - Regional Supplementary Procedures. It has a total number of 50 staff who work round the clock to provide meteorological services. The Meteorological Office at KLIA is responsible to provide the following meteorological services:-
The Meteorological Office at KLIA is also responsible to provide aeronautical meteorological services to the Dependent Meteorological Offices in Penang, Butterworth and Kuantan whenever the need arises. |
