Bayan Lepas Forecast Office


Bayan Lepas Regional Meteorological Office was established in February 1978 and is located in Bayan Lepas International Airport. A network of 5 meteorological surface stations and 1 upper air station was established to serve the primary function of continuous weather monitoring and to provide the necessary meteorological data for weather forecast in the northern area of Peninsular Malaysia.


To maintain a continuous weather monitoring over Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
To provide the mandatory meteorological services for civil and military aviation.
To issue general weather forecast to the public.
To issue advisory and warning of severe or extreme weather conditions when necessary.
To provide weather forecast and outlook.


Flight weather documents for international and domestic flights.
General weather forecast for general public and hotels.
Radio weather forecast is issued every 8 hours.
Information and advice to the meteorological data users in building, tourism, industrial, agriculture, fishery and marine sectors.
Advance warning on occurrences of adverse weather phenomena such as drought, fog or haze, torrential or strong monsoon rain and thunderstorm.
Provide of real-time meteorological data.
