The Selangor Meteorological Office is located at Terminal 2 of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (SAAS) Airport in Subang. It operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The office functions under the Director General of the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia). Its primary role is to manage the administration, development, and operations of MetMalaysia in the state of Selangor. The office also provides meteorological services for aviation purposes and the general public. To ensure quality service delivery and meet customer requirements, the Quality Management System (QMS) has been implemented, and the office has been certified with MS ISO 9001:2008 since 2010. It is currently manned by a total of 10 staff members.
To manage the administration, development and operations of the Department at the state level.
To manage and monitor aviation meteorological operations in compliance with ICAO/WMO standards.
To ensure all the activities meet the state and national requirements.
To provide expert advisory services in the fields of meteorological, geophysics and tsunami to the state government.
To conduct public awareness and educational programs on disaster risks related to weather phenomena, earthquakes and tsunamis at the state level.
To monitor weather conditions and changes for METAR/SPECI reporting to ensure aviation safety around Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang.
To provide aviation weather information to civil and military flight operations within the state.
To monitor weather changes in the state of Selangor and disseminate weather advisories or warnings on heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas to the State Government, State and District Disaster Management Committees.
To deliver weather briefings and advisory services.

All meteorological services provided for civil aviation comply with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Disseminate severe weather warnings issued by the National Weather and Geophysics Operations Centre to the public and government agencies immediately, to reduce the risk of loss of life and property.
Disseminate advisories or severe weather warnings within 30 minutes of receipt.
Respond immediately and courteously to all weather-related inquiries via telephone or in-person visits at any time (24 hours a day, including Sundays and public holidays).
